File Size, Retention & Limits

Files Auto-delete after 24 hours on homepage transfers, and after 24 hours on online tools. Large-file uploads and fair-use limits explained.

Here is how long files stay online, how large uploads work, and what to expect when you send a file with Big File Sharing.

How long are files kept?

What you uploadedAutomatically deleted after
Files sent from the homepage (private share link)24 hours
Files used in online tools (converters, resizers, and similar)2 hours

After deletion, files cannot be recovered. Recipients should download before the timer ends.

Maximum file size

Homepage transfers use resumable uploads, so large videos and archives can finish even when email would reject them (email is often limited to 10–25 MB).

We are a temporary transfer service, not unlimited permanent storage. A very large upload may still fail if:

  • Your device runs out of memory or disk space
  • The connection drops for too long
  • The transfer is unusually heavy for fair use

If an upload fails, try again on a stable connection, or split a huge archive into smaller parts.

What we do not limit the way cloud drives do

  • No account required to send or receive a standard transfer
  • No public gallery of other people’s files

Fair use

Malware, illegal content, and automated abuse are not allowed under the Terms of Service. We may slow or stop abusive traffic.
